AC DC Configurable Power Supply Modules

AC/DC Configurable Power Supply Modules (CPSMs) are a highly flexible power supply solution designed to meet the customized requirements of complex applications. Their modular structure enables diverse combinations of output voltage, current, and power.

These modules primarily consist of an AC input front end (including PFC) and a pluggable DC output unit, allowing users to configure single or multiple isolated outputs for specific scenarios. Output voltages typically range from 48V (38.5V to 50.4V), with power ratings ranging from 200W to over 1500W. Input voltages are compatible with the global standard of 85-264VAC.

Key features include high efficiency (up to 91%), remote monitoring (e.g., PMBus interface), adjustable current limit, and output sequencing, supporting high-reliability applications such as medical, industrial automation, and communications equipment.

Manufacturers such as Artesyn’s iMP4 series offer up to 15 isolated outputs with flexible output voltages ranging from 2V to 60V. A digital interface enables real-time parameter adjustment and fault diagnostics, making them ideal for high-density power system integration.

These modules are widely used in medical instruments, LED lighting, and computing devices, providing stable DC power. When selecting a module, consider output power, temperature compatibility (-40°C to +85°C), EMI protection, and certification requirements (such as CE and UL) to ensure compatibility in harsh environments.
